196 m a.s.l. >>Ascona is the lowest-lying town in Switzerland. It lies 196 metres above sea level on the northern shore of Lake Maggiore. Ascona is famous for its old town, the southern lakeside promenade with its street cafés and its mild climate. In Ascona's old town centre, Borgo, lies the impressive church of San Pietro e Paolo, a pillared basilica from the 16th century, whose high bell tower is the landmark of the holiday resort. The branching old town streets lead to the car-free lakeside promenade with charming street cafés. Above Ascona lies Monte Verità, the mountain of truth. Man kann eine Bushaltestelle weiterfahren als angegeben. Und eher auf dem Hinweg beim Zentrum aussteigen, siehe Fahrplan Linie 1. Es fehlten Kehrichtsäcke, im Coop konnte man nur 10-er Rolle kaufen.

Wir waren ein verlängertes Wochenende in Ascona und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Es gibt eine moderne gut ausgestattete Küche und ein kleines Balkönchen. Die Wohnung liegt sehr zentral, alles ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Promenade, Altstadt, Einkaufen, bagno publico
